A Levy & DCPL Pilot Program: The AI Upskilling Lab
August–October, 2025
This experimental Cohort of ~50 displaced federal workers and job seekers from adjacent sectors is piloting The AI Upskilling Lab at DC Public Library in partnership with Levy. Over twelve weeks they’re building projects, testing new skills, and leaning on one another to reimagine what work can look like in the age of AI.Their journey is still underway, culminating in a public Demo Day on October 21 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. You can register here.Initially titled "The AI Upskilling Cohort", we've expanded the title to "The AI Upskilling Lab: The Inaugural Cohort" in order to include related programming and opportunities for connection, including co-working at MLK Library and a community Slack channel due to broad interest from applicants and a range of community stakeholders.Current cohort members are working with Levy to keep the momentum going following the pilot. You can plug in to their ongoing organizing here: theupskillinglabs.org
